Although the Nike Dunk was first designed as a basketball shoe in 1985, skaters were the go-to market for its flat, grippy soles. The brand has already given its silhouette a wide array of updates over the decades since its debut, both through popular collabs and general releases.

Earlier this month, Nike unveiled the new “Safari Swoosh”, “Dark Driftwood”, “Baroque Brown” and “Dark Beetroot” styles of the Nike Dunk Low. This list will now include an all-new “Green Velvet” pattern, which breaks away from the shoe’s traditional leather construction.

The tops of the new iteration are covered in premium velor fabrics and finished in a soft, shiny finish. The green hue combines with off-white elements to give the shoes a stylish makeover.

Radial perforations on the green velor toe caps enhance breathability. These end caps are surrounded by similar velor textiles which are used as mud flaps. Adjacent to the toes are the velvety eyelets, which are coupled with matching tongue flaps bearing the Nike swoosh branded labels in white.

The colors on the tabs are complemented by off-white lace ties.

The lateral sides are also complete with green velvet textiles and topped with similar swooshes. The back of the kicks are adorned with NIKE lettering, executed in green.

The inner liners are constructed using Green insoles while the insole is finished with the Nike swoosh label in White. The white midsoles of the shoes pair well with the teal green gum rubber outsoles.
