Blanchardstown Center Opens Ireland’s First ‘Nike Unite’ Concept Store

Nike Unite will open in Dublin’s largest shopping destination, Blanchardstown Centre, in spring 2023.

The concept store was designed to inspire people to get active and play sports by featuring an in-store community wall showcasing Dublin’s local partnerships, landmarks and athletes.

The space to Blanchardstown Center will be Ireland’s first Nike Unite Store, with two already existing Nike Factory Stores. Covering more than 10,300 square feet, the new unit is located in a prime location on Center Level 1 and will feature Nike’s coveted sports, fashion and footwear lines for men, women, teens and kids.

Sharon Walsh, Leasing Director of Falcon AM, Asset Manager for Blanchardstown Centre, added: “The community orientation of the new store also speaks directly to our ethos here at the Centre, and we know our customers will be incredibly thrilled to to visit.

Nike is the world’s largest supplier of athletic apparel and footwear, with annual sales of more than $46 billion in 2021. Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the sports giant has expanded into a team of more than 79,000 people worldwide.

Dublin’s shopping destination has attracted a host of new brands, such as the crowd-pulling global chain Zara. The Spanish brand’s new Blanchardstown Center store is set to open next month. At 52,000 square feet, it will be the second largest Zara retail unit in the world.

Pat Nash, Managing Director of Falcon AM, commented: “Nike Unite is the latest in a series of far-reaching lease agreements for the center, reflecting continued confidence in brick-and-mortar retail, as well as a positive on the Irish market in general. With consistently high occupancy rates and healthy footfall levels, major Irish retail assets like Blanchardstown are ‘really bucking the trend’ at present, in direct contrast to the situation in much of Europe.

Blanchardstown Center (currently 98% occupancy) is Dublin’s largest shopping and leisure destination, spanning over 1.1 million square feet, with an annual footfall of over 16 million.
